Interactive Wine Tasting

Cyril Koog

Tuesday 15 October 2013

More than a professional occupation, wine is a passion for Cyril. He began to hone his knowledge and interest in wine at early age by visiting many vineyards and wineries in his home country, France. His passion for wine led him successively to professional experience in wineries, restaurants and wine merchants, gathering nine years’ experience in the wine trade working in France, England and China.

Cyril is now director of sales and marketing for Royal Oak, a Shanghai-based wine merchant, with dedication to provide the best wine experience to its customers. Royal Oak interactive wine tasting is dedicated to people who consider wine as a pleasure and who want to learn how to describe it. It applies to all level of wine knowledge, from beginners to connoisseurs. The main concept is to base the wine tasting on associations with common and known concepts (actors, landscapes, music type…). For example, a Chardonnay from Burgundy could remind a beautiful mountain with snow while a Sauvignon Blanc from Chile could remind more of a sunny beach with palm trees…

There is no wrong or right, as everyone make links with its own memories, its own taste and feelings…
